Sub-prime woes hit…florists?
October 4th, 2007Written by: Scott
I was talking on the phone with my mother yesterday (she is retired but works part-time at a small florist shop) and she mentioned that her boss has been stressed because of a huge slowdown in business.
“But Mom…you work at a florist? Why has it slowed so much”
“Oh, most of our clients are mortgage brokers and title companies. They usually send a flower basket or gift basket to their customers when they close”
Wow. I didn’t realize how far the pain had spread from the slowdown. It’s not just notaries. It’s not just mortgage brokers and real estate agents…It’s florists too!

Yep, I’ve heard that this situation is reaching it’s tentacles into all sorts of industries. Today, I heard it is really affecting the local businesses in New York, because it has such an impact on the businesses within in that city.

Maybe the pharmaceutical companies are profiting due to all of the anti-depressants we all are taking! Just a thought.
